Roxanne Alvarez is a transfer student from Waubonsee Community College attending Aurora University. She is a senior and will be graduating May 2026 with a bachelors in English. During her time at Waubonsee, she was a music major and received an associate’s degree in August 2024. Her poem The Sweet Escape was published in Aurora University’s literary magazine Elysian. She was born and raised in Aurora, IL, and continues to live in Aurora. She has a deep love for music and all kinds of art. In her free time, she enjoys baking, reading books or comics, and taking nature walks. She is the youngest member in her family and is first generation to attend college. Her favorite place is her bed or any coffee shop. She needs her daily cup of coffee alongside her headphones to power through every day.
